MURDER ON THE EDGE

She slipped,
it was a sheer drop,
I grabbed her hand,
I held her,
she looked down,
she looked up,
on her face a look of terror,
from her mouth, screams,
this was an opportunity,
a fulfillment of dreams,
for all she did and didn't do,
her cheating past back to haunt her,
her life now in my hand,
a decision soaked in revenge
to pull her up,
to let her go,
I smiled back and eased my grip,
then watched her crash on the rocks below.
