inventing brutal upbringing,
exaggerating break-ups and breakdowns,
exploiting bullshit and mud slinging,
wringing out emotion becomes the job,
Hello, OK, Piers Morgan, sob, sob.
Celebrities,
money for old shagged out rope,
famous only for being famous
to the shallow viewer-reader dope,
obese on gorging on gossip and reality shows,
the only way they exist, God knows.
An aid worker, an aid worker,
who's name* we'll soon forget,
kidnapped, beheaded, dead,
not famous, no lengthy regret,
not poor-me celebrity candyfloss,
an aid worker working for the Red Cross.
Celebrities,
you're not as important as you think,
wake up and buck up,
and at least occasionally,
just shut the fuck up.
*Khalil (Ken) Dale, aged 60, was working for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Quetta, capital of Baluchistan, one of the most lawless of Pakistan’s regions, when he was snatched in January, 2012. Local officials said his decapitated body was found on a road outside the city yesterday, wrapped tightly in cellophane inside a bag on which was written the address of the local police chief. According to police, a note with the body said: “We had some demands that were not met, so we killed him.”
