The classic editions will feature original artwork by the American illustrator Carolyn Arcabascio. H. G. Wells (21 September 1866 - 13 August 1946) is famously often referred to as ‘the father of science fiction’, but Wells’s phenomenal imagination ranged far and wide and included works of comic social realism. Such is Wells's facility for story-telling that, well over a century after their publication, his tales are as fresh and compelling to us today as they would have been when his initial readers first turned their pages, often in astonishment and frequently in amusement. Wordsworth’s Managing Director Helen Trayler said: “We’ve had the release of these H.G Wells titles in our diaries for as long as I can remember, so it’s really exciting to finally make them available. “Our hope is that our low price points and accompanying materials will introduce the delights of H.G. Wells to a new generation of readers.” The full Wordsworth Editions H.G.
