Our first and only dog,
a pup, drowned by a nutcase,
didn't even have a name,
not sure if it was a he or a she,
not even sure if we heard it bark,
too young to have teeth to bite,
no time to get used to it being around,
just shocked by what the nutcase had done,
for nutcase reasons, for nutcase fun.
